Laser scanner XGRIDS Lixel L2 Pro
The L2 Pro (Flagship Model)
The L2 Pro currently stands as our premier data collection tool. XGRIDS offers two laser sensor configurations for this device, and we strongly recommend the top-tier option, which captures 660,000 points per second. This specification delivers a dense point cloud that is not only ideal for mass collection of Machine Learning (ML) training datasets but also meets the high-fidelity requirements of LED studios for virtual production. It serves as the workhorse of our fleet, enabling us to achieve high volumes of data collection efficiently.
Strengths & Limitations
While the 3DGS output quality is excellent for ML and virtual production purposes, the device does have minor limitations. We have observed that color fidelity can occasionally deviate from reality, with noticeable shifts in specific hues (e.g., oranges shifting toward pink). Additionally, the sensor matrix is relatively small for a device in this price range. However, a significant advantage is its robustness in varying lighting conditions; it is notably less sensitive to low light compared to other devices in this category.
Typical Applications
Examples of high-quality scenes collected with the L2 Pro include the Wroclaw Cathedral and Laval castle.
We provide practical advising on data collection techniques, grounded in our extensive experience with XGRIDS equipment. Our expertise is built on over two years of field operations and the successful collection of over 3,000 scenes . Whether you are setting up a new workflow or optimizing an existing one, we offer insights to help you maximize efficiency and quality.
